Visiting the Disney Theme Parks with your Rental Car

Each Disney park has its own charm and special magic that makes it a memorable experience for life, for all who visit. Once you have rented a car, and you are ready for the adventure, here is a brief overview of what you will find at each park:

Epcot:  The most educational of the Disney parks, this is a place where you can learn and play. It is stretched out along 300 acres and, because of its size, it takes two days to see it all. Epcot has two parks: Future World and World Showcase.

Hollywood Studios: This park recalls the golden age of cinema in the United States. It is divided into eight areas: Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Sunset Boulevard, Streets of America, Commissary Lane, Pixar Place, Mickey Avenue and Animation Courtyard. It is a perfect combination of attractions, shows, and places to shop and eat.

Animal Kingdom: A mix between a nature reserve, a zoo and a theme park that recreates jungle, forest and savannah landscapes. Animal Kingdom combines the possibility to see animals in their natural habitat, with incredible musical performances, all the Disney characters, and other attractions.

Magic Kingdom: In Magic Kingdom, you can enjoy the magic of Disney in all its splendor, with pirate ships, haunted houses, and greetings from Mickey Mouse, himself. Some of the main attractions are the Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, Enchanted Tales with Belle, The Festival of Fantasy, and Buzz Lightyear.

Water Parks: Blizzard Beach y Typhoon Lagoon Giant slides, huge swimming pools with artificial waves, and slippery tubes that seem to have no end, make this park a refreshing excursion, filled with adrenaline.

Directions on How to Arrive to the Disney Parks with your Rental Car

Upon arrival to the Miami Airport, a good option is to rent a car and drive through the Turnpike towards Orlando.  It is a four-hour trip on the freeway, and very easy to do; however, it is advisable that you make sure that your vehicle has a GPS in your language.

Once in Orlando, it is extremely convenient to take the exits that lead you to the parks. These exits you will find within a 24 kilometer (15 mile) stretch, and the roads are well indicated, making it very easy to follow them.

Parking Information for Rental Cars

For those staying outside of Disney, it is very convenient to use a rented car, as all the parks have large parking lots. In Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or the water parks, you can park and walk to the front entrance, or go by trains (Trams) that take visitors from the parking lot to the access doors. Magic Kingdom is the only park that doesn’t have parking next to the entrance, so your car rental should be left at the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) platform, and from there, you can take the monorail to get to the entrance. The daily parking rate in the parks is 14USD.
