Visiting Legoland in a Rental Car

Inaugurated in October of 2011 in Winterhaven, Orlando, Legoland Florida http://florida.legoland.com/ is an interactive family park totally based on theme of LEGO which offers shows and attractions for children from 2 to 12 years old.

On its 150 acres (61 hectares), visitors to Legoland can enjoy some 50 attractions, restaurants, shops, a botanical garden, and a water-park. Legoland is divided into 11 themed zones: The Beginning, Duplo Valley, Adventureland, Imagination Zone, LEGO Technic, The World of Chima, Fun Town, Miniland USA, Lego City, Lego Kingdoms, and Cypress Gardens.

LEGO offers attractions that are mostly designed for younger ones. Some of these are: Rescue Academy, Ford Jr. Driving School, Nautical School, LEGO MIndstorms, Construct and Test, LEGO Hero Factory, WB Games Zone, Aquazone Racers Wave, Project X, Technicycle, Fresh from the Greenhouse, The Great Carrousel, the LEGO Factory, Lost Kingdom Adventure, Duplo Train, Duplo Farm, Duplo Tractor, Duplo Splash and Play, Duplo Toto Spot, Safari Trek, Royal Just, Merlin’s Challenge, and Forestmen’s Hideout among others.

The park also has a wide variety of restaurants and offers visitors a baby stroller rental service, wheelchairs, lockers, smoking area, gift shop, ATMs, and a place to leave your pets. Starting in 2015, the park will inaugurate it’s own hotel, the Legoland Florida Resort.

How to Get to Legoland Florida

Legoland is located in Winterhaven Florida, 33884. If you’re staying in Miamihttp://www.miamigov.com/home/ or in Orlandohttp://www.cityoforlando.net/, and you have reserved a rental car you can take International Highway I-4 East until exit 27 on the Polk County Parkway. It’s about a 3 hour trip between Miami and Legoland, and about 45 minutes between Orlando and Legoland. It’s not a difficult trip, the route is well marked. However you can enjoy the journey even more if your rental car has a GPS that speaks your language. It’s also helpful to contact a rental car that does not impose a daily mile limit, so you can avoid the inconvenience of extra costs that you have not expected. Parking Information

Upon arriving to the park entrance, you’ll see a sign that says Legoland. If you continue along that way in your rental car and later turn left, you’ll pass through the exterior part of the parking lot which will lead you to the ticket-booth. Here the cost is US$14 per day. Unlike other parking lots, this one does not have a VIP section, so it’s advisable to arrive early to get spots closer to the entrance doors. The parking lot opens about 45 minutes before the park opens.
