Those who find themselves visiting the city of Orlando will almost surely get in their rental cars and take trips to Disney World, Legoland, or Universal. It doesn’t matter if you’re going alone, as a couple, or with children. Now one should leave the city without giving in to the magic of one of these theme parks.
Speaking of magic, at Universal, more specifically in Island Adventure there’s an attraction that could easily be it’s own park. And this is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which since it’s opening in 2010 has become a hit with incredible attendance.
Since it’s inauguration in 1990, no other attraction was invested in as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. And certainly the 9 million visitors that enjoy this seventh island each year confirm that those who bet on Harry Potter were not mistaken.
Those with the good fortune to tour The Wizarding World of Harry Potter can cross Platform 9 ¾ and board the Hogwarts Express Train from King’s Cross Station in London, located inside Universal Studios, and travel to Hogsmeade Station, located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. During the trip you’ll come in contact with characters from various movies and be taken to one of the most important moments in the life of Harry Potter and his friends.
You can also explore Diagon Alley in the streets of London and witness how the wand selects it’s sorcerer in Ollivander’s Shop. At the other end of Diagon Alley, right at Grigott’s Bank run by elves, you’ll live a thrilling multidimensional adventure facing the dangers of the vaults of the bank and meet Harry, Ron, and Hermione themselves.
At Hogsmeade you can visit the incredible Hogwarts castle, see it’s classrooms and halls, tour the fantastic village of Hogsmeade with it’s streets full of shops and restaurants. You can also fly above the castle thanks to the magical attraction, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.
For those who stay outside of Universal Resorts it’s very convenient to use a rental car since the complex offers an enormous multi-floored covered parking lot for visitors. The entrance to the park is about a 10-minute walk from there. The cost is U$15 per day and you can go to any of the parks.
